Grief Share is a 13-week support group that meets in a small group setting to watch and discuss videos covering the steps of grief. After viewing the video, you and the other group members will spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video and what is going on in your own lives.

Did you know that 1 in 5 adults in the United States is dealing with the effects of trauma?

Trauma is defined as an emotional response to a deeply disturbing event which causes damage both to a person’s sense of self and his/her ability to cope with the physical and emotional fallout of the trauma.

A recent study by Barna found that the experience of trauma among practicing Christians almost mirrored the general population; however, this study also noted that practicing Christians reported significantly less distress from many symptoms of trauma. While research shows that practicing Christians have more resources for dealing with the pain, it clearly shows we still have a deep need for help in making sense out the curve balls life often throws our way. Impact Counseling’s trained counselors combine best practices for coping with and processing trauma responses with a deep love for the healing work of Jesus Christ so that we are able to treat the whole person: body, mind and spirit.

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Matthew 9:36

ways to pray for Impact this week

Pray for peace as many of our clients come to us experiencing extreme stress and anxiety. They need healing from pasts hurts and trauma.

Continue to lift our Impact Staff up against the risk of illness and that we may find new strength, and sour high like eagles. We will run and not get weary, we will walk and not faint.
